  • Parallel Imports in Pharmaceuticals: Increase Access to HIV Drugs by Dr. Krithpaka Boonfueng. This article explains the strengthening of patent protection under the TRIPS Agreement and its effect on developing countries, while addressing how compulsory licensing and parallel imports can solve the problem of high prices and low availability of essential drugs. The author also touches on issues which the TRIPS council should resolve in the near future.
 
  • Reformation of the Thai Legal System at the Beginning of the 20th Century: Context and Origin by Chachapon Jayaphorn, law lecturer at the Chulalongkorn University. The article is an analysis of Thailand’s legal history during the last two centuries, where the administrative policies and legal reformations undertaken resulted in the current legal and administrative systems. By analyzing the legal history, the author believes it could help to shape Thailand’s legal policy for the future.
 
  • Is it a Time to Use “Power of Sale” for Solving Mortgage Enforcement Problem in Thailand? By Manisara Chulasamaya, law lecturer at the Dhurakijpundit University. The author focuses on the right to sale out of court in this article on mortgage law, an area of law which is considered difficult in the Thai justice procedure. The article provides an insight into the problem of mortgage enforcement in Thailand, a problem which is not only between the parties of the contract but also the whole economic system in Thailand.
 
  • A Thai Case of Extradition: Political Expediency and Mercy by Dr. Alexander Shytov. This was a high-profile political case that involved a former celebrity from USA who was used by the US Administration in its bid to win conservative votes. This is a case of extradition in Thailand in which the circumstances were in favor of mercy for the accused, but where the Thai court failed to pay due consideration to the mitigating circumstances which bars extradition with political agenda.
 
 
  • Can Thai Copyright Law be Properly Applied to Internet Activities? by Saravuth Pitiyasak. This article provides a list of Internet copyright infringements that could occur in Thailand and gives examples of major cases involving such infringements.
