Oklahoma Nullifies Obama Admin’s Federal Health Care Act
Oklahoma is on its way to passing legislation that would render President Obama’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act “null and void.” The House voted 72-20 in favor of the bill, sponsored by Republican Representative Mike Ritze. Ritze says the federal health care act is unconstitutional and not supported by Oklahomans, reports Bloomberg Business Week.
“Laws are unconstitutional when they’re not pursuant to the enumerated powers,” Ritze said. “This is a political statement. We are just doing the will of the people when they voted in 2010.”
Oklahoma has already amended its constitution declaring the federal health care law illegal.
