Anti-NDAA “Operation Homeland Liberty” Takes Off

by Admin on February 21, 2013

As the battle against the “indefinite detention” provision in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) wages in the Supreme Court (see Hedges vs. Obama), some states and individuals are taking it on themselves to stop the law – and giving themselves a time limit.

“Operation Homeland Liberty” is an effort to pass anti-NDAA legislation in all 50 states by December 31, 2012. The initiative is led by People Against the NDAA (PANDA), the largest organization in the U.S. fighting what they call “the most dangerous laws ever passed.” PANDA is putting their bets on the law being ruled constitutional by 2014, and believes responsibility then will fall on the states to prevent it.

The organization helps create “state teams,” which then work to lobby local and state lawmakers to introduce anti-NDAA legislation and ensure its passage.

PANDA features a legislative map on their page that allows you to check their progress in all 50 states.
