Controversy surrounding gun control and gun rights in the United States prompted us to understand what the gun culture is like in Thailand. We headed to the Bangkok Shooting Range to speak with shooting range instructor Toy on the topic.
Toy explained that while many guns are legal, and Thais are allowed to purchase and own firearms, it’s not easy to do so. She explained that, from registering to licensing and purchasing, there is a lot of red tape involved.
Foreigners are not allowed to own guns in Thailand. They are permitted, however, to visit shooting ranges like this one, and shoot a variety of handguns and rifles.
