A Thai traffic cop was recently caught on video taking a THB 400 payoff from a cabbie who took an illegal U-Turn. This situation (the U-Turn and bribe) is commonplace throughout the city even if it is rarely recorded.
Luckily, Thailand has signed an international anti-corruption campaign in hopes of decreasing systematic corruption. This will follow up with camps about anti-corruption and seminars about anti-corruption. However, any clear statement on how this will actually clear up corruption is still in the dark.
