Exploring Gun Culture Around the World on Khao San Road

by Admin on January 30, 2013

Thai Law Forum continues to explore gun culture amidst the intensifying gun debate in the United States, this time heading to Khao San Road in Bangkok, Thailand.

Khao San Road, considered a rite of passage for many young backpackers that come through Thailand, is visited by travelers from all over the world. Thai Law Forum asked those passing through about the gun laws and gun culture in their home countries.

The reactions we received weren’t out of the blue. The travelers we interviewed (Australia, South Korea and England) didn’t own guns and also didn’t think it was common in their country to do so.

Pride in gun ownership may be a uniquely American characteristic.

Switzerland is another story.
