China: Bo Xilai Upstages Prosecutors In Corruption Trial
The trial was supposed to represent a battle of morality against corruption, but in a final twist during closing arguments, Bo Xilai dropped a bombshell: that the key government witness, whistle-blower and former Police Chief Wang Lijun, was in love with Bo’s wife. Bo was charged with accepting bribes; embezzling money and abuse of power.

Under the Communist Party system, there are rarely juries hearing criminal cases. Judges usually undertake sentencing, although lawyers say that guidance is provided for highers sources.
The trial is now concluded and state media have reported that Bo will be sentenced later, rumored to be in September.
