Tesla CEO Elon Musk reportedly used his employees to pressure prominent Thai officials to retract negative statements about his mini-subs he built to rescue the boy’s soccer team and their coach who were trapped in a flooded cave.

During the deadly rescue mission helmed by the Thai navy seals and volunteer divers, a regional Thai official stated that Musk’s mini-subs were “technologically sophisticated” but “not practical”.

“We need to go all out and make this guy retract his comment,” Musk said, according to court filings from his ongoing defamation case involving a cave rescuer that he called a “child rapist” and “pedo guy”.

On top of that, reports say that the tech billionaire also urged his employees to push other Thai officials to make glowing comments about himself as well as his company’s technology and engineering feats.

The employees lobbied the Thai consul in Los Angeles to pressure prominent Thai officials including the prime minister of Thailand, Prayuth Chan-ocha.
