Gambia’s Tourism Minister Deters Sex Tourists by Promoting Thailand Instead
The Tourist Minister, Hamat Bah, seemed upset over the news that an influx of Westerner’s were looking to come to Gambia in terms of sex tourism.
He warns that any tourist found in engaging in sexual relations with a minor will be “prosecuted to the full extent of the law”. He further explains that Gambia is not a destination for sex tourism and those seeking that type of tourism to “go to Thailand”.
Mr. Bah refuses to see the impoverished Western African nation be viewed in the same light as Thailand and emphasizes that Gambia must stay strong to protect and preserve the country.
