Myanmar Parliament Approves Telecoms Bill
The Parliament in Myanmar has passed a telecoms bill which will permit licensed international firms to operate there reports The New Light of Myanmar.
The move will open up the potentially lucrative mobile market.

The bill still however needs to be signed by President Thein Sein before it will come into effect.
Last month, Myanmar awarded licences to Norway’s Telenor and Qatari’s Ooredoo as it aims to raise coverage from less than 10% to 80% by 2016.
