Hot! Thai Police Give 220 Pounds of Marijuana to Government for Research

Thailand is on the verge of legalizing medical weed and ahead of that, the Thai police have handed over 220 pounds of marijuana to the government so it can commence research on the medicinal potential of the drug.

The weed, which was seized by the police in raids and other criminal investigations, will be used by the Government Pharmaceutical Organization to create weed-based medicines for Thais suffering from a variety of afflictions.

Although still illegal in Thailand, medical cannabis looks likely to be passed into law before next year’s elections, which the military junta claims will take place on Feb. 24th.

As of now, the idea of legal medical marijuana is facing little opposition in Thailand, with the majority of the junta, legislators, and public all behind it.
