Hot! Valentine’s Day: Thailand Gov’t Tells Teens ‘Have Dinner, Not Sex’

Candy HeartsThailand’s government is asking teens to not have sex this Valentine’s as part of efforts to address the country’s growing teen pregnancy rates, reports the Bangkok Post.

The message is “have a special meal, but not sex” in the Moral Promotion Center’s new campaign launched this holiday to reportedly raise awareness of the dangers of pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.

Thailand reportedly has one of the world’s highest teenage pregnancy rates, and apparently teenagers think Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to lose their virginity, according to the Bangkok Post.

One city official proposed that an alternative to sex for teens to show love for each other would be to “free birds and fish” or “go to the temple.”
