Burma Lawyers Reinstated
LA Times | The Law Society of Upper Canada and other human rights advocates have helped at least 11 lawyers from Burma who were disbarred for protesting against the state regain their licenses. Burma has been under military rule for nearly 50 years and often hands down strict sentences for political protestors.
Burma lawyers may soon start having more cases as outside investors and tourist come into the country.
