Many people have said the cuts will only increase unemployment and job insecurity where recession is already weighing heavily on the people. According to the AP Spain’s overall jobless rate is nearly 25 per cent.

The growing protests, which could ultimately lead to a strike, have also witnessed a number of police beatings. A recent video shows the Spanish police going through the streets going after a number of people a harshly hitting them.
