Harvey Weinstein Sued for Sex Trafficking
Harvey Weinstein has been accused of violating sex trafficking laws at the Cannes Film Festival in 2004, The Guardian reports.
A lawsuit has been brought against him by British actress Kadian Noble, who claims that Weinstein groped her, trapped her in a bedroom and forced her to perform sexual acts.
The suit also alleges that Weinstein’s brother, Bob, committed “reckless disregard”, and an unnamed producer from the Weinstein company told Noble to be “a good girl and do whatever he wished” during a phone call.
A spokesperson for Harvey Weinstein addressed the allegations, stating that “there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances”. This is the latest in a string of allegations against the producer, which began when Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan spoke out with claims of rape, harassment and abuse in October.
